On Saturday, 4 April 2026, the South Holland Provincial Championship took place in Rotterdam with 21 participants. It was a great and successful day of Stratego, with a strong field that also had an international touch. Alongside the Dutch players, one player from Belgium and one from Greece also took part in the tournament.
The battle for the top positions was exciting, but in the end Max Roelofs came out on top. The top 3 was as follows:
🥇 Max Roelofs — 31 points
🥈 Pim Niemeijer — 28 points
🥉 Anjo Travaille — 28 points
There were also several notable performances outside the podium places. Bahadir Makaroglu in particular delivered an impressive result. As a newcomer, he immediately held his own in a strong field and finished in an excellent 7th place. A result that certainly stands out and looks promising for future tournaments.
All in all, it was a successful edition of the South Holland Provincial Championship, with strong performances, exciting games and a nice international character.
